Logan Healthcare Foundation, Inc. Public Notice - Request for Proposals Calendar Year 2017

The Logan Healthcare Foundation, Inc. (“Foundation”) is inviting non-profit organizations to apply for grant funding for the calendar 2017 funding year that meet the Foundation’s primary charitable purpose as outlined below.  Applications are now being accepted for calendar year 2017 or until all funds allocated for distribution for year 2017 have been exhausted.  The Foundation will generally consider grant requests from individual Grant seekers from $500 to a maximum of 20% of the years approved funding or as determined by the Board of Directors (the maximum available grant will generally range from $45,000 to approximately $55,000). 

Mission Statement

The Foundation’s primary charitable purpose is to further enhance health initiatives in the region which include seeking to improve the health status of, and access to health care for the residents of its service area of Logan, Boone, Lincoln, Mingo, and Wyoming counties in southern West Virginia.  Utilizing a variety of approaches the Foundation will award grants to qualified nonprofit organizations with specific, identifiable needs in supporting and/or promoting the adoption of health policies that will address the unmet health needs of West Virginians in its service area.

Grant Making Guidelines

The Logan Healthcare Foundation supports innovative efforts and original projects that offer far-reaching gains and widespread results with explicit, identifiable needs.  The Foundation might choose to fund the early stages of a project’s development and/or attempt to leverage additional funds to start or complete a project.  Interested parties must submit a proposal in accordance with specified Application Procedures.  Grant seekers must also be aware of what the Logan Healthcare Foundation does not support as identified in the Areas of Exclusion contained within the Foundations Grant Guidelines.  Please do not apply until you have carefully reviewed these Guidelines.

Grant applications will be reviewed by the Grant Advisory Committee with the final determination made by the Logan Healthcare Foundation’s Board of Directors in accordance with its Grant Guidelines, Certification requirements and Proposal requirements.  The size and number of grant awards are directly related to the funds available each year from the Logan Healthcare Foundation’s Endowment. 

The fact that any particular Grant seeker requests and/or files a formal grant request in accordance with the Foundation’s guidelines does not guarantee a grant award.  The Foundation will review and select those grant applications deemed to have merit and meet grant requirements providing funding is available.
